Interactions create Career Connections
Self-discovery is a marketable skill.
As a MicroSociety School for over 15 years, The Chiles Academy has grown to develop its own project-based collaborative learning program that focuses on community engagement and career readiness called InterACTIONs.
Each student is enrolled in InterACTIONS when they join our school. The experiential-based learning course is designed for students to discover their strengths, growth-areas, passions, potential and drive through group projects, service learning, career readiness, and life skill mastery.
Money Management is a life skill
For every day of attendance, a student earns Chiles Cash to be spent every Thursday at our on-site boutique or to be saved for the two major auctions at the end of each semester. The Thrifty Chic Boutique is stocked with community donated items like gently-used baby clothes, woman’s clothing and shoes. Toiletries are stocked and provided to help our students support their growing families. Each student earns a pack of diapers to take home after a week of attendance.
Students participate in an auction for big ticket items twice a year with their saved Career Cash
